Life Coaching Policy

Hello and peace to your day! I look forward to being your coach.

There are some simple but important things to note when working with a life coach. I am happy to discuss any of these with you, as you need.

1. In many cases, a life coach is not a psychologist, therapist or professional counsellor. I think it is very important to be up front about this. I am not trained in these professions. I AM trained, however at:

a. being a good listener

b. helping you to empty out what is pulling at your heart or blocking your mind,

c. doing a bit of unpacking and acknowledgement of these blocks,

d. helping you think creatively about how to move forward and pursue your next best step

e. holding a space for you to experience peace, through reflection and pause (or prayer, if you wish)

I love seeing people shift their hearts and minds and awakening to new possibilities (or things they really desire). In circumstances where I know clients are really struggling with a particular issue, or seem especially troubled, I will refer them on to the relevant professional for further help. I am happy to work in conjunction with this professional to get the best outcome for my client, if that is what is best for them. 2. I don’t have the answers! OK sometimes I do (!) and I have my own ideas, but most of the time, my clients carry the answers to their challenges in their own hearts and minds. As a life coach, I help provide the safe space to allow people to feel comfortable to go THERE and actually THINK and FEEL what it would be like to change some aspect of their life, to challenge their blocks and consider their own desires. It’s like experimenting in a ‘play environment’ for your life. Our sessions are a safe space because I guarantee a confidential and non-judgemental sounding board. In some circumstances, and as clients wish, I can offer my ideas too, but in every case, I WILL keep you accountable once you have found some ideas you’d like to pursue. Most people also need encouragement, so as your life coach, my job is to help you awaken the courage within yourself in order to step forward. And then, like any good coach, jog alongside you until you reach where you want to be.

3. Your time and my time is precious. I commit to being as respectful of your time as I can. I understand we all have many commitments (sometimes all in one day!). Under exceptional circumstances (If my schedule has been derailed that day), I will do my best to notify you as early as possible. Likewise, I ask my clients to respect my time too. As such, I ask for payment in advance of your session, and for clients who do not attend their scheduled appointment without 24 hours notice, I cannot offer a refund. Thanks in advance for your understanding – a bit of tough love from me to you, to ensure you commit to ‘YOU time’ for your own self development.

4. We can meet in person or online. I understand that our lifestyles are quite demanding. So to help you carve out some time for YOUR thoughts, feelings and dreams, I aim to be as flexible as possible. I offer in-person appointments every Thursday (from 9am until 7pm) In Newport, Queensland. And I have greater flexibility online, with appointments available on Fridays, weekends and weeknights. I use my own business zoom account link, which I email to clients the day before our session. Online sessions are especially helpful for those with many restrictions on their time.

4. Confidentiality. As a professional, it goes without saying that your session is absolutely confidential. This is your sacred space to empty out, think and even pray. I look forward to meeting you soon!
